Title - Oracle Technical BSA / Solutions Architect RF Scanning & Transportation Integration

Location-Remote

Duration Contract

Role Overview

Our client recently acquired a company operating on NetSuite with an existing RF scanning solution and is migrating that business onto its Oracle environment. The organization currently utilizes Oracle Order Management, Inventory Management, and Shipment modules, but does not have Oracle WMS. The RF scanning capability will be implemented as an integrated extension layered onto Oracle.

This consultant will serve as the technical bridge between the RF scanning vendor and the Oracle impact analysis/vendor team, translating business and technical requirements into standardized design documentation while guiding the solution through internal architecture governance and SDLC processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the RF scanning solution vendor and the Oracle impact analysis/vendor team during the design phase.
  • Gather requirements and produce formal technical design documentation for architecture and governance approval.
  • Design and document Oracle integrations supporting RF scanning functionality across Oracle Order Management, Inventory Management, and Shipment modules.
  • Lead or heavily support transportation integration efforts, including shipment tracking between Oracle and Descartes transportation systems.
  • Support integration design and impact analysis involving Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), where applicable.
  • Partner closely with development resources through build, SIT, UAT, deployment, and hypercare.
  • Support a phased rollout beginning with major distribution centers, followed by a broader enterprise deployment.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong Oracle technical background with experience in Oracle integrations, architecture, and technical specifications.
  • Experience within supply chain environments, including warehouse management, purchasing/sourcing, inventory, or transportation operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Descartes Transportation Management/Fleet Planning (strongly preferred and a key requirement).
  • Experience serving as a Business Systems Analyst or Solutions Architect responsible for coordinating multiple vendors and delivering unified technical designs through formal governance and SDLC processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) experience.
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) implementation experience.
  • Experience integrating RF scanning or warehouse mobility solutions with Oracle Cloud applications.

Candidate Screening Notes

  • This is a design-phase critical position, so candidates must be available to contribute immediately.
  • Descartes experience should be heavily prioritized, as it is the most difficult skill set to find for this engagement.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple vendor teams simultaneously and translating requirements into cohesive technical design documentation for stakeholder approval.
