Sr. OEM Success Manager, Amazon Autos

Description

Are you passionate about building trusted relationships and driving innovation at scale?

Amazon Autos is revolutionizing the vehicle discovery and shopping experience, connecting customers with their ideal vehicle. As an OEM Success Manager at Amazon Autos, you'll have the opportunity to unleash your entrepreneurial spirit and tackle complex challenges alongside industry-leading professionals.

As an OEM Success Manager, you will be the single-threaded owner of one or more automotive brands on Amazon Autos. You are the person accountable inside Amazon for how well that brand performs. Your unit of ownership is a brand nationally — every rooftop selling it, in every market we operate — rather than a portfolio of individual dealerships. You will own the operating relationship with your manufacturer, build the plan that grows their business on Amazon, and drive the work required to deliver it.

The defining challenge of this role is that you will not own the dealerships. You own the brand outcome, which means your results come from diagnosing what is holding a brand back — and then mobilizing the teams who can fix it. Doing that well takes deep automotive fluency, the analytical rigor to separate a real brand-level pattern from a handful of rooftops, and the credibility to influence on both sides of the relationship.

Above all, you must demonstrate a high level of ownership and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. If you're ready to take on a challenging, yet rewarding role in a start-up-like environment, we encourage you to apply for this OEM Success Manager position on the Amazon Autos team.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities

OEM Success Managers own program-level performance for their assigned brands and deliver it through partner teams. The key responsibilities are to:

Own your brand's performance on Amazon end to end. Serve as the single-threaded owner for one or more manufacturers

Build and run the operating relationship with your manufacturer. Own a weekly cadence with your OEM's point of contact and the weekly performance reporting that goes with it

Build and execute a growth plan for your brand. Use performance data to find where the brand is under-indexed by market, model, and vehicle condition, decide what to fix and in what order, and drive it to a measurable outcome.

Own brand-level issues and escalations end to end. Diagnose root cause rather than routing symptoms, and drive resolution with the accountable team

Direct brand-level work through partner teams.

Drive financing performance for your brand. Diagnose approval and conversion performance across credit tiers

Grow buyable selection for your brand. Drive new, certified pre-owned, and used condition enablement, resolve the inventory and eligibility constraints

Represent your brand internally. Convert what you see in the data into quantified, well-reasoned asks for Product, Marketing, and Lending, and partner with OEM Business Development

Raise the bar on the function. Build reporting, mechanisms, and best practices that other brand owners can reuse, and help define what good OEM management looks like

A day in the life

You will run a weekly call with your OEM's point of contact, backed by performance reporting you own, and you will spend the days between those calls making the numbers move. That means digging into your brand's purchase funnel to find where it breaks and then working with the team who can fix it. You will bring specific, prioritized asks to Metro owners for the rooftops carrying your brand, escalate systemic issues to Product, Lending, or Marketing with the data to support them, and prepare Business Development ahead of executive-level manufacturer conversations. Internally you will work across several teams and present your brand's performance and plan to senior leadership.

About The Team

We are a newly formed rapidly growing team with a vision to create innovative discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection. This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
