Remote | UI/UX Designer

Other Jobs To Apply

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced UI/UX and product designers with strong expertise in digital product design, design systems, responsive interfaces, end-to-end user flows, and production-ready design workflows.

This role supports an advanced AI research initiative focused on evaluating how effectively AI systems perform real-world digital product design work. Selected professionals will establish clear quality standards, develop task-specific evaluation criteria, and review AI-generated and human design work using the judgment expected from experienced product and UX professionals.

Key Responsibilities

UI/UX & Product Design Evaluation

  • Evaluate realistic digital product and user-experience deliverables
  • Review responsive interfaces, dashboards, customer portals, and complex product experiences
  • Assess end-to-end flows such as onboarding, checkout, booking, and account management
  • Evaluate interaction design, visual hierarchy, usability, accessibility, and overall product quality
  • Determine whether proposed solutions meet the expectations of real users and production environments
Design Systems & Interface Review
  • Assess design systems, component libraries, patterns, and reusable interface elements
  • Evaluate consistency across components, states, layouts, and responsive breakpoints
  • Review the scalability and practical usability of design-system decisions
  • Assess whether interfaces follow coherent interaction and visual-design principles
  • Identify inconsistencies, usability issues, and production-readiness concerns
Evaluation Criteria & Scoring
  • Develop precise, task-specific grading criteria for digital product design work
  • Define standards that distinguish strong professional design from incomplete or superficial solutions
  • Score AI-generated and human work samples against established criteria
  • Provide detailed written justification for evaluation decisions
  • Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment so assessments remain reproducible and defensible
Product Flows & Production Handoff
  • Review prototypes and end-to-end product journeys
  • Evaluate UX writing, product content, and interface communication where relevant
  • Assess Figma-based design and design-to-engineering handoff
  • Review specifications, component behaviour, responsive states, and implementation readiness
  • Incorporate structured reviewer feedback and refine evaluations efficiently
Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX, product design, or design systems
  • Experience designing real digital products rather than primarily brand or marketing websites
  • Background in product-led companies, digital-product studios, e-commerce, marketplaces, SaaS, or comparable environments
  • Strong expertise in interaction design and visual design
  • Experience creating or maintaining design systems and component libraries
  • Hands-on experience designing responsive interfaces and complex product flows
  • Strong proficiency with Figma and production handoff workflows
  • Ability to articulate detailed design critique at a senior professional level
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Educational Background
  • A degree in interaction design, product design, UX design, human-computer interaction, digital design, or a related discipline may be helpful
  • Equivalent professional experience in digital product design may also be considered
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating substantial work on real digital products is particularly valuable
Nice to Have
  • Experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, UI Designer, UX Lead, or Design Systems Designer
  • Background in UX writing or content design
  • Experience with sophisticated customer portals, dashboards, or transactional products
  • Familiarity with e-commerce or marketplace experiences
  • Experience reviewing or mentoring other designers
  • Strong knowledge of prototyping and interaction patterns
  • Experience collaborating closely with product managers and engineering teams
  • Prior experience with AI training, evaluation, structured review, or human-data projects
Why This Opportunity
  • Apply professional UI/UX expertise to advanced AI evaluation work
  • Review realistic digital product experiences rather than abstract design exercises
  • Help establish quality standards for AI-generated product design
  • Work across interfaces, design systems, user journeys, UX content, and production handoff
  • Use experienced design judgment to evaluate work from both user and business perspectives
  • Participate in flexible remote consulting work with competitive hourly compensation
Contract Details
  • Independent contractor role
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling
  • Competitive rates between $75–$145 per hour depending on expertise and project scope
  • Work may include design evaluation, rubric development, scoring, written critique, and quality review
  • Applicants may be asked to provide a resume, portfolio, or relevant professional background
  • Qualified applicants may be asked to complete a brief assessment or provide additional information
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance
  • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
