We offer behavioral healthcare services – psychiatry, addiction recovery, mental disorder treatment, etc. – that allow clients at all stages of recovery or rehabilitation to reclaim health and well-being.<br><br><strong>Summary<br><br></strong>The Billing Specialist is responsible for accurately preparing, reviewing, and submitting patient billing claims while ensuring completeness, compliance, and timely reimbursement. This position works closely with clinical and administrative staff and insurance representatives to resolve billing issues, correct claim denials, and support accurate financial processing across the organization.<br><br><strong>Essential Duties And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain missing information as needed. </li><li>Prepare, review, and submit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing. </li><li>Identify, correct, and resubmit claims impacted by electronic payer edits or denials. </li><li>Identify and bill appropriate secondary and tertiary insurance carriers. </li><li>Assist with follow-up on outstanding claims to support timely payment and reimbursement. </li><li>Communicate with insurance companies, internal departments, and clinical staff regarding billing inquiries. </li><li>Maintain accurate billing documentation in accordance with company, payer, and regulatory standards. </li><li>Prioritize work to meet established deadlines and productivity expectations. </li><li>Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with patients, staff, and insurance representatives. </li><li>Identify billing issues and obtain or communicate information necessary to support claim resolution. </li><li>Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when entering, reviewing, and processing billing information. </li><li>Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information. </li><li>Completion of all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities<br><br></strong>None.<br><br><strong>Required Qualifications<br><br></strong>Licensure, Education, & Experience<br><br><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical billing required. </li><li>Post-secondary education in healthcare administration, billing, finance, or related field preferred. </li><li>Experience working with insurance companies and billing software preferred. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities<br><br></strong>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, bend, or lift up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.<br><br><strong>Work Environment <br><br></strong>The work environment is typically indoors and moderately quiet. This position may require extended periods of computer use and will be scheduled based on operational needs. The employee may occasionally interact with patients or insurance representatives regarding billing questions. Regular use of computers, billing software, electronic claim systems, communication platforms, and other office technology is required. The position requires the handling of confidential patient, insurance, billing, and financial information.<br><br><strong>Compensation<br><br></strong>This position may be subject to state or local wage transparency requirements.
