Description

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Account Executive to join our growing Government and SLED (State, Local, and Education) sales team.

As the owner of all current and prospective SLED accounts in your assigned geographic territory, you will also be responsible for identifying and actively prospecting into whitespace, as well as nurturing and managing current accounts and actively growing and expanding into additional agencies and cost centers in existing customer jurisdictions.

This is a field sales position based in Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.

About The Role

  • Own the full sales cycle for government and SLED accounts, from prospecting through negotiation, contracting, and close.

  • Drive territory growth by landing net new logos and expanding existing accounts through increased platform usage and multi-product adoption.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across government agencies, state and local organizations, and educational institutions, serving as the primary point of contact for all commercial and relationship matters.

  • Consult with clients to connect their goals and challenges to monday.com's platform, tailoring your approach to government and education use cases.

  • Navigate complex procurement processes, including RFPs, tenders, and government-specific requirements, and collaborate with legal and compliance to ensure deals meet public sector standards.

  • Maintain visibility into renewal timelines across your territory and partner with the Renewals Specialist team to proactively identify risk and expansion opportunities, ensuring a seamless experience through contract renewal and re-procurement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience in a closing role, selling a software/SaaS product to government or public sector (SLED) clients.

  • Strong understanding of public sector sales cycles, including RFPs, procurement processes, and compliance considerations.

  • Proven track record of success and overachievement in sales, particularly in navigating complex deals with multiple stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with government and SLED leaders.

  • A driven self-starter who works independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and consistently exceed expectations.

  • BA/BS degree preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.

The estimated annual base salary range for this role is $145,000 – $168,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including education, training, experience, business needs, and work location. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for either an annual discretionary bonus or a role-based, sales incentive plan. Certain roles may also include equity in the form of RSUs. Full compensation details, including any applicable bonus or incentive plan, will be provided in the hiring process.
