Accountant II – Starbucks, Carson City, USA

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and self‑review journal entries for accuracy and compliance with company guidelines and accounting principles.
  • Reconcile accounts.
  • Maintain and improve accounting structures and processes for the location, proposing and implementing upgrades to existing frameworks and techniques.
  • Support month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, including budgeting, variance analysis, and forecasting.
  • Produce ad‑hoc reporting and analysis to aid commercial business unit operational, financial, and strategic decisions.
  • Participate in cross‑functional initiatives and assignments as needed to support departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic, team‑oriented culture while operating in accordance with Starbucks’ core values.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional accounting experience (journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting, and analysis).
  • Bachelor’s degree required (degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred).
  • Experience using an ERP system and business intelligence/reporting tools (including Hyperion and Oracle) desired.
  • CPA designation is an asset.
