<p><strong>TechOps Engineer</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Contract | £400 per day</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We’re partnering with a technology-led organisation to appoint an experienced TechOps Engineer to operate, stabilise and scale Azure-based production platforms.</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on infrastructure or production operations specialist with strong experience across Microsoft Azure, RHEL and Java/Spring Boot microservices. You’ll support business-critical platforms in a 24/7 environment, taking ownership of incident management, security remediation, CI/CD and automation.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p><p><br></p><p>As TechOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the reliability, security and performance of complex UAT and production environments hosted on Azure.</p><p>You’ll act as a senior escalation point for L2 and L3 incidents, diagnosing issues across infrastructure, applications and middleware while driving root-cause analysis and permanent resolutions.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a highly technical role requiring strong production operations experience, confident incident leadership and the ability to improve platform reliability through automation and effective CI/CD practices.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><p>You’ll play a key role in maintaining secure, resilient and scalable production platforms by:</p><p>• Building and supporting UAT and production environments within Microsoft Azure.</p><p>• Performing hands-on RHEL administration, including hardening, patching, performance tuning and troubleshooting.</p><p>• Acting as an escalation point for L2 and L3 incidents.</p><p>• Leading root-cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes for recurring issues.</p><p>• Supporting Java and Spring Boot microservices in production environments.</p><p>• Diagnosing JVM issues relating to memory, garbage collection, threads and latency.</p><p>• Driving security vulnerability remediation across operating systems, middleware and cloud infrastructure.</p><p>• Collaborating with Security, SOC and NOC teams during incident response and post-incident reviews.</p><p>• Managing incidents, problems and changes through Jira Service Management.</p><p>• Maintaining operational runbooks, dashboards and technical documentation.</p><p>• Improving platform reliability through automation, scripting and CI/CD.</p><p>• Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p><br></p><p>You’ll be an experienced TechOps, Infrastructure, SRE or Production Operations professional with a strong technical background and the ability to support complex, business-critical platforms.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>You will also have:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>• At least eight years of experience within TechOps, Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering or Production Operations.</p><p>• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Virtual Machines, VNets, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, Bastion, Key Vault, Blob Storage, Redis and MySQL.</p><p>• Knowledge of Azure Front Door, Cloudflare, Layer 7 load balancing, TLS, VPNs and private endpoints.</p><p>• Advanced RHEL administration experience within enterprise production environments.</p><p>• Proven experience supporting Java and Spring Boot microservices and middleware in production.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of Nginx and technologies such as Dubbo, Nacos, ZooKeeper, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ and Redis.</p><p>• Advanced Elasticsearch experience, including cluster operations, indexing and performance tuning.</p><p>• Strong observability experience across the ELK Stack, Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor and JVM monitoring.</p><p>• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions and Git-based delivery workflows.</p><p>• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and Bash.</p><p>• Experience with Terraform and working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and GitOps practices.</p><p>• Strong incident, problem and change management capabilities.</p><p>• Proven experience conducting root-cause analysis and implementing lasting resolutions.</p><p>• Familiarity with ITIL principles and service management practices.</p><p>• Experience using Jira Service Management and Confluence.</p><p>• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical, security and operational teams.</p><p>• The flexibility to support 24/7 operations and participate in an on-call rotation.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Why Apply?</strong></p><p><br></p><p>This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of critical Azure-based platforms within a complex production environment.</p><p>In return, you’ll benefit from:</p><p>• A competitive £400 day rate.</p><p>• Exposure to a broad modern technology stack across cloud, infrastructure, middleware and observability.</p><p>• A technically challenging role supporting business-critical production services.</p><p>• The opportunity to influence platform reliability, security and automation.</p><p>• Close collaboration with engineering, security, SOC and NOC teams.</p><p>• The opportunity to implement lasting improvements across production operations.</p><p><br></p><p><em>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
