They will also deliver quality customer service to members and guests.<br><br><strong> Key Responsibilities: <br><br></strong><ul><li> Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and staff by providing close supervision of the facility. Control access into the facility and exit ways. </li><li> Adhere to all Department of Health (DOH), Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD), NYCHA, and YMCA of Greater New York standards. </li><li> Adhere to and enforce the security policies at all times. Patrol the facility to detect all infractions of house rules and report issues to the proper authorities. </li><li> Maintain fire/safety logbooks in accordance with the facility requirements and ensure security logs include daily sign-in and sign-out sheets for all participants and visitors. Inspect all bags, packages, etc., leaving the premises as described in YMCA policies. </li><li> Participate as an active member of the fire brigade. </li><li> Effectively communicate information to participants and visitors. </li><li> Perform investigations and thoroughly document. Appropriately report and document all incidents/accidents immediately. </li><li> Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants, members, and guests by providing close supervision in hallways. </li><li> Be on time, in uniform, and prepared to work at the beginning of the shift. </li><li> Ensure the check-in area is always neat, organized, and free of hazards. </li><li> Assist with general housekeeping tasks when necessary. <br><br></li></ul><strong> Desired Skills & Experience: <br><br></strong><ul><li> High School Diploma or equivalent required. </li><li> Minimum of one (1) year of related experience. </li><li> Knowledge of security and safety procedures. </li><li> Security Guard license preferred. </li><li> Sprinkler certification preferred. </li><li> Current CPR, First Aid, or AED certifications preferred. <br><br></li></ul><strong> Benefits: <br><br></strong>The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits , medical benefits, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
