<p><strong>Job Title: Low Voltage Technician</strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>The Low Voltage Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide range of low-voltage systems, including security, access control, surveillance, fire alarm, telecommunications, structured cabling, fiber optics, and audio/visual systems. This role ensures all systems are installed safely, operate reliably, and comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications while delivering high-quality service and clear documentation.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling, including CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic cable.</li><li>Install and configure security cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and fire alarm systems.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings to plan and execute installations.</li><li>Label, organize, and document cable runs, terminations, and system configurations for accurate records and future reference.</li><li>Perform system testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation of all low-voltage systems.</li><li>Diagnose and repair system failures, connectivity issues, and performance problems in low-voltage and data networking systems.</li><li>Ensure all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, project specifications, and customer requirements.</li><li>Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and project documentation throughout each assignment.</li><li>Communicate clearly with customers, project managers, and other trades to coordinate work activities and resolve issues on site.</li><li>Follow all safety procedures, jobsite requirements, and company policies while working on construction and operational sites.</li><li>Assist with pulling wire and cable, including data cable and fire alarm cabling, in new and existing construction environments.</li><li>Support inspection and construction activities related to low-voltage, fire alarm, and associated electrical systems.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>At least 1 year of experience installing low-voltage systems; entry-level opportunities may consider candidates with less experience.</li><li>Hands-on experience with structured cabling, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, or data networking systems.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.</li><li>Knowledge of hand tools, testing equipment, and cable termination techniques for CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.</li><li>Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for low-voltage and network-related issues.</li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various jobsites.</li><li>Experience with pulling wire and installing data cable, fire alarm cable, and other low-voltage wiring in construction environments.</li><li>Familiarity with NEC and local electrical and low-voltage codes as they apply to installations.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training certification.</li><li>Manufacturer-specific certifications related to low-voltage, security, fire alarm, or networking systems.</li><li>Low-voltage licensing where required by local or state regulations.</li><li>Fiber optic installation and testing experience, including termination and verification of fiber links.</li><li>Experience working in commercial construction environments, including office buildings, retail, and institutional facilities.</li><li>Experience supporting low-voltage systems in data centers, solar installations, or industrial facilities.</li><li>Exposure to fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems in coordination with low-voltage installations.</li><li>Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers, supervisors, and other trades.</li></ul><p><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Contract position based out of Elk Grove, CA.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. <p> Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.<p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
