The Dishwasher is also responsible for the cleanliness of all back-of-house areas, including sanitization and maintenance of equipment, shelving, tabletops, floors, walls, and more. Dishwashers will assist in pulling and staging all equipment prior to setup, during the event, and during clean-up. Dishwashers are expected to stay composed and flexible in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong initiative and teamwork to ensure event success.<br><br>This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.00.<br><br><strong>Benefits for Part-Time Roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) Matching.<br><br></strong><strong> This position will remain open until December 18, 2026. <br><br></strong><strong>About The Venue<br><br></strong>Western Kentucky’s award-winning<strong> Owensboro Convention Center</strong> is a full-service facility overlooking the Ohio River in downtown Owensboro. The multi-purpose center offers just under 102,000 square feet of space, including a 44,000+ square foot exhibition hall, the 8,900+ square foot Kentucky Legend® Pier, and a variety of ballroom, meeting, and pre-function areas.<br><br>The Owensboro Sportscenter, one of the city’s most historic venues, opened in 1949. This 5,000-seat arena hosts concerts, sporting events, graduations, trade shows, meetings, and receptions.<br><br>A new indoor youth sporting complex, opening July 2026, will be the region’s newest indoor sports facility. Designed for basketball, volleyball, and other athletic events, the complex provides flexible court layouts, spectator seating, and space for practices, tournaments, and community activities.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Ensures highest sanitation levels for all items previously used so that they may be used again in clean condition, free of any contamination risk. </li><li> Removes all trash and maintains loading and receiving areas in safe and clean condition. </li><li> Stock plates, glasses, pots, utensils, and pans after cleaning. </li><li> Cleans and sanitizes all food service areas and equipment. </li><li> Keep the dish room clean and organized. </li><li> Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. </li><li> Assists others in closing the kitchen. </li><li> Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager on duty. </li><li> Bag and haul kitchen trash to the appropriate area. </li><li> Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure a sanitary wash cycle. </li><li> Assist on plate-up and food production line as needed. </li><li> Sweep and/or scrub all floors in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. </li><li> Clean up spills and/or breakage on the event and kitchen floors. </li><li> Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef, Sous-Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> High school diploma/GED. </li><li> Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly manner. </li><li> Must be energetic and self-motivated. </li><li> Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays as required. </li><li> Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members. </li><li> Must be able to work unsupervised. </li><li> Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen staff, and dining room personnel. </li><li> Ability to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed. </li><li> Ability to keep up in a fast-paced kitchen environment. </li><li> Must be comfortable wearing non-slip shoes. <br><br></li></ul><strong> Strengthened by our Differences.
