YOUR LIFE AS A FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST / OFFICE ASSISTANT

This job has a schedule of Monday - Friday, part-time/full-time with no weekends and some flexibility as to hours and day.

You are the friendly face of our clinic! You love animals and people, and you genuinely enjoy forming relationships with our clients and their pets. You warmly greet people by name as you competently schedule appointments, respond to inquiries, and process payment transactions. When conducting phone calls, you communicate clearly and tactfully. Your customer service background serves you well as you assist clients who are worried about their sick or injured pets. With a calm and empathetic demeanor, you skillfully put others at ease and diffuse tense situations.

Thanks to your keen organizational abilities, our office runs seamlessly. Detail-oriented and efficient, you perform data entry tasks, create invoices, and prepare patient files. You take accountability for client correspondence, including procedure reminders and thank you cards. Staff members appreciate your positive, flexible nature and your willingness to learn new things, including veterinary terminology. You enjoy interacting with our clients and pet patients each day, and you feel great knowing that you play an important role in the success of our practice !


WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • A nice, pleasant person!

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree OR equivalent certifications

  • Experience working in an office as a receptionist or customer service agent

  • Proficiency with computers, including the use of email, instant messaging, and Microsoft Word and computer software in general

  • Ability to type

  • Willingness to be exposed to irritants that accompany animal care, including odors and loud noises

A college education is preferred but not required. Experience working in a vet clinic would be a plus, but we can train you in veterinary-specific knowledge ! If you can meet these requirements and perform this customer service job as described above, we would be happy to have you as part of our team!
