Secondary Supply Teacher Nottingham, Nottinghamshire Part-Time | £140-£180 per day Love teaching. Less interested in everything that surrounds it? You might still enjoy walking into a classroom, explaining a subject well, getting pupils involved and seeing that moment when something clicks. But perhaps you don't currently want your own permanent timetable, the longer-term commitments of a full teaching post or the same routine every week. Supply teaching offers a different way to stay in the classroom. We're looking for qualified teachers to provide part-time cover within a secondary school in Nottingham, delivering lessons when permanent teaching staff are unavailable. Your Job for the Day: Keep Learning Moving You'll arrive to planned work and take responsibility for delivering it effectively. Sometimes you'll be teaching within your own subject specialism. At other times, you may be asked to supervise learning outside your usual department. Either way, the priority is straightforward: Create a purposeful classroom, engage the pupils and make sure learning continues. You'll be expected to: Deliver lessons and work set by the school Explain tasks clearly and confidently Maintain appropriate expectations for behaviour Keep pupils focused and engaged Adapt your approach where pupils require additional support Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures Provide useful feedback for the permanent teacher Work professionally with departmental and pastoral colleagues What Makes a Good Supply Teacher? Subject knowledge matters. But supply also requires something else: the ability to establish yourself quickly. You're walking into a classroom where pupils don't necessarily know you, so you'll need to set expectations from the beginning without spending half the lesson trying to establish authority. Strong supply teachers tend to be comfortable thinking on their feet, reading a classroom and adapting when something doesn't go quite to plan. For this position you'll need: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification Secondary teaching experience Strong classroom and behaviour management Good subject knowledge Clear communication skills Confidence working with different classes and age groups Flexibility and a professional approach Keep Teaching on Your Terms This is a part-time supply opportunity, with daily rates of £140-£180 depending on experience. You'll have the opportunity to continue building classroom experience and access ongoing CPD without necessarily committing to a permanent teaching position. It could suit an experienced teacher looking for a change of pace, someone returning to the classroom after time away, or a teacher who simply prefers the variety of supply work. Ready to Get Back in Front of a Class? If you want to keep doing the part of education you enjoy most - teaching pupils - we'd like to hear from you. Apply with your CV today for part-time secondary supply teaching opportunities in Nottingham.

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
