The Safety Program Manager will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and training to promote and ensure effective safety operations across the organization and lead our internal audit program. This role requires a strong background in occupational health and safety, risk management, and compliance, along with exceptional management and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish safety policies and procedures. Design and implement standardized safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices; ensure these policies are effectively communicated and consistently followed throughout the organization.
  • Develop a corporate safety and communications calendar, develop and deliver content to all business units.
  • Build a robust company-wide ergonomics program through partnership with 3rd party solutions and company medical staff.
  • Monitor and assess safety performance. Regularly analyze safety data to identify trends, potential hazards, and emerging risks.
  • Foster a culture of safety excellence by promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Develop a safety strategy to incorporate HOP and VPP elements.
  • Participate in company internal EHS audits and inspections.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs. Collaborate with training and development teams to design and deliver effective safety training programs for employees (at all levels), contractors, and onsite service providers; ensure that employees are adequately trained to perform their duties safely.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulations. Stay up to date with the latest safety regulations, industry trends, and emerging technologies related to workplace safety, and proactively identify (and implement) opportunities to provide best-in-class safety practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including leadership, operations, human resources, legal, and risk management teams; work collaboratively to ensure safety considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making.
  • Assist with coordinating company-wide programs, such as machine guarding, combustible dust, and industrial hygiene.
  • Partner with all business units and procurement to select vendors and implement company-wide service agreements (i.e., arc flash, PPE vendors, etc.)
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health, manufacturing, engineering (safety engineering preferred), or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of occupational health and safety or safety management in an industrial setting, with experience in manufacturing environments and auditing
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful safety programs and initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex safety concepts to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to travel domestically 25-30%
  • Accelerated computer skills; ability to adapt quickly to computer software programs with proficiency in Microsoft Office Package
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and extremely organized

  • Ability to interpret governmental safety and environmental regulations (i.e., OSHA, EPA), and provide practical application of regulations
Physical Requirements:
  • Position works primarily in an office environment, but walking through industrial areas of manufacturing shops as needed; must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Work involves sitting, standing, hearing, talking, handling, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, walking, squatting or kneeling, bending
  • Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions
