As a Director at ROI, you are a key member of an account team, dedicated to supporting client success through change enablement, communication strategy, execution and communication ecosystem support. In this role, you oversee discrete client projects from start to finish, or may direct workstreams of a larger, complex client engagement.

Our ideal candidate has experience in managing a communication or engagement team within large, complex organizations, developing and executing strategic communication and engagement plans, building strong client relationships and teams, and working in fast-paced, high-energy environments. Strong writing and editing skills are a must. This role is ideal for people who want to have strategic influence within an engagement and also enjoy deep hands-on work to drive client success.

Essential Functions

  • Support the success of client engagements by:
  • providing overall project leadership, which includes directing the program or project for a client and managing the day-to-day client relationship.
  • advising client on best approach to achieve goals.
  • conducting assessments and creating change, engagement and communication strategies.
  • managing and enabling strong team performance through clear expectations, feedback, guidance and support.
  • managing project according to Statement of Work and project budget.
  • meeting timelines with high-quality deliverables.
  • participating in new business development by identifying new opportunities and talking to clients about potential new projects.

Skills & Abilities

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree (four-year college or technical school) required
  • Master’s degree preferred; field of study: communications or marketing
  • Experience
  • 5+ years designing complex strategic communication plans
  • 5-7 years in communication, marketing or related field
  • 5+ years in internal communication
  • 3+ years consulting preferred
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficient in standard business software and technology platforms
  • Ability to learn technology applications quickly
