Part-Time Phone Screener for High-Volume Field Roles (US Only)

Other Jobs To Apply

No other job posts for this day.

I'm a fractional chief people officer working with home and commercial services companies (pest control, restoration, mechanical services), and recruiting is part of my retained agreements with them.

These are solid small businesses that don't normally have HR or recruiting, and I've built a real niche here. I have multiple retained clients hiring right now. The roles range from part-time office and admin up to field technicians, field coordinators, and project managers.

What you'd do:

Work the applicant flow directly through Indeed and ZipRecruiter. I won't be handing you names one by one.

Reach out to candidates, run 15-20 minute phone screens using scripts I provide, and stay current with everyone in process. Same-day follow-up is the expectation, not the exception.

Schedule interviews and confirm them so people actually show up! My clients are great with responsiveness and availability.

Send pipeline updates: who's in process, where they stand, whether we need more spend on a job posting. I want your read on the pipeline, not just activity.

Mostly inbound applicants; some sourcing on tougher roles. Sourcing chops are a plus, not a requirement. The core skill is reading applicants, understanding the requirements, matching the right people, building trust, and getting them to show up.

We communicate through Slack. I use AI tools (Claude and Muse primarily) to make the workflow fast, and I'll show you how it all works. ( I've built some really cool automations!)

What I provide: I pay for all job postings, tools, and email, and I can set you up with a Google Voice number if you'd like one. Everything you need is covered.

Pay (starting point):

$100/week retainer, paid bi-weekly

$25 per candidate submittal I approve (up to 5 per week per client - sometimes more under certain scenarios which we can discuss)

$50 per candidate who shows up for the client interview

$200 per hourly hire (higher-level roles carry higher fees, negotiable)

This is a starting point. As things get steadier and the business grows, the pay grows with it.

The honest picture: This is my side business alongside a full-time role, and I'm building it into steady income. Sometimes things slow down and I'll tell you when they do. When it's busy, someone doing this well can realistically make an extra $400 to $500 a week, and the heavy lifting is really just talking to candidates.

Where this can go: Someone who does great work, shows up consistently, and can hold their own with both candidates and clients could eventually run the whole recruiting operation. I'm looking for a real working partnership, not just task coverage.

If you genuinely enjoy the screening work, matching people to roles, and getting them across the finish line, there's a bigger future here.

Requirements:

-US-based, native-level English, comfortable making calls in the US

-High-volume recruiting, staffing, or phone -sales experience

-Comfortable with a tech-enabled workflow

-Organized and proactive about staying on top of candidates

-To apply: Send an overview on your high-volume experience and your availability.

Strong candidates get a 15-minute call, then a paid trial with real candidates.

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
