GEV Wind Power is seeking an Offshore Traveling Basic Service Technician to join our growing offshore wind operations team.

This is a hands-on, travel-intensive position supporting basic maintenance activities on offshore wind turbines. The successful candidate will work as part of a team in a challenging offshore environment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

Candidates must be available to start as early as August 24, 2026, to attend required New Hire Orientation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic scheduled and preventative maintenance activities on offshore wind turbines.
  • Assist experienced technicians with assigned maintenance activities.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical tasks in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist with component replacements, adjustments, and general turbine maintenance.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and other service equipment safely and correctly.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), energy isolation, and other established safety procedures.
  • Work safely at heights and within confined spaces inside wind turbine structures.
  • Participate in offshore transfers between vessels and turbine structures in accordance with required procedures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, PPE, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Complete maintenance documentation, checklists, timesheets, and other required records accurately.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and pre-task planning.
  • Follow customer, site, vessel, and GEV Wind Power policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, hazards, incidents, equipment damage, and quality issues.
  • Work effectively with technicians, supervisors, vessel crews, customers, and other project personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support offshore service operations.


We are ideally looking for technicians with the following skill set and training:

  • Minimum of 6+ months of experience in wind turbine service and maintenance
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and torque/tensioning equipment
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical procedures, and safety documentation
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability and willingness to work in an offshore environment and travel 100%
  • Must be comfortable working aboard vessels and in offshore environments.
  • Must be able to safely transfer between vessels and offshore wind turbine structures.
  • Must be physically capable of climbing wind turbine towers and ladders while wearing required PPE and carrying necessary equipment.
  • Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Satisfactory criminal background check

The following certifications are optional and considered a plus:

  • GWO BST Offshore (Basic Safety Training) - fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid
  • GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) - electrical, hydraulic, mechanical
  • GWO ART Hub & Nacelle - Advanced Rescue Training
