Why does this role exist?
This role exists to ensure accurate, timely, and well-controlled accounting operations in Oracle NetSuite while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day system use across the organization. The company is expanding and needs a dedicated NetSuite Accountant to manage core GL activities, strengthen reconciliations and controls, and improve reporting visibility. The position also provides hands-on support for integrations (e.g., payroll, billing, bank feeds) and proactive troubleshooting for end users in a fully remote environment.

The Impact you’ll make

Daily Accounting Operations
  • Prepare and post journal entries; manage AP/AR workflows.
  • Perform daily cash and monthly bank reconciliations; handle allocations.
  • Maintain accuracy across accounting data and support adherence to controls.
Month-End Close and Financial Controls
  • Execute reconciliations, accruals, variance checks, schedules, and close documentation.
  • Ensure timely close across subsidiaries and segments; resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Maintain audit-ready support and follow established approval processes.
Financial Master Data and Structure
  • Maintain chart of accounts, accounting segments, subsidiary structure, and related master data.
  • Enforce data standards and documentation for account mappings and classifications.
  • Partner with the Accounting Manager to implement updates and improvements.
Reporting, Analytics, and Dashboards
  • Build and maintain NetSuite saved searches, financial reports, dashboards, and recurring analyses.
  • Deliver accurate, timely insights for accounting and operational stakeholders.
  • Drive report adoption and ensure consistency with internal reporting conventions.
Integrations and End-User Support
  • Assist with integrations (e.g., Paylocity, billing systems, bank feeds); review and reconcile imported data.
  • Troubleshoot NetSuite errors, support end users, and document recurring issues.
  • Escalate complex technical or accounting matters promptly with clear context.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required:
  • 2+ years of staff accounting or general ledger experience, including journal entries, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, allocations, and month-end close.
  • Hands-on Oracle NetSuite experience strongly preferred, including saved searches, reports, dashboards, and user support/troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of chart of accounts, subsidiary accounting, accounting segments, and financial master data.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills for reconciliations and analyses.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Clear written and verbal updates; ability to support end users and escalate issues with context.
  • Professionalism: High integrity, confidentiality with financial data, and adherence to accounting controls.

  • Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
  • Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
  • Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam

Compensation:
  • $7 per hour
