Job Summary

We are a small medical office in Citrus Heights in need of a part-time, detail-oriented, HIPAA-complaint medical scribe to help enter physician notes into a tablet-based, easy to learn, electronic medical record system.

Hours are flexible, part-time, and estimated at 10-12 hours per week, in person; hours would need to be completed during business hours, sometime between 9 AM - 5 PM Mon-Thurs and between 9 AM - 3 PM on Friday, and we may offer the option of coming in to work a few hours on a Saturday once per month (however, working on a Saturday is absolutely not mandatory and not expected).

The physician would provide guidance and instruction and templates for how to enter the information into the record, and of course the notes will be reviewed for accuracy and supportive feedback will be provided.

There would be other routine office administration tasks as well, such as helping with phone calls, appointment scheduling, returning messages, sending faxes, scanning documents.

This would be a good position for a student since it would provide exposure to the health care field while also leaving time for classes and studying.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations using EMR (Electronic Medical Record system), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist healthcare providers by capturing precise medical documentation, including histories, physical exams, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR), ensuring all patient information is complete, accurate, and securely stored in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Uphold all HIPAA compliance standards by safeguarding sensitive patient data at all times.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable with typing and tablet-based data entry; training would be provided on our specific system
  • Interest in the medical field is a plus (pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing, pre-health career)

Please submit your resume if interested. We look forward to hearing from you!

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? 2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
