Career growth and advancement are encouraged through training and mentoring opportunities.<br><br>Please be advised that although medical cannabis has been legalized in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, due to other applicable state or federal laws, employees in this position are prohibited from using medical cannabis.<br><br>If you need additional information about this prohibition, you may contact the agency point of contact for additional information.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following<br><br></strong><ul><li> Assists in daily operations of a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility under direction of the Juvenile Facility Manager or Administrative Coordinator with regards to treatment and business responsibilities. </li><li>Assists in the daily operations of the program and provides daily supervision to assigned staff. </li><li>Recommends personnel actions including disciplinary, etc. </li><li>Administers all aspects of the facility in the absence of the Juvenile Facility Manager or Administrative Coordinator. </li><li>Interprets and enforces policies and procedures. </li><li>Coordinates American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation process. </li><li>Consults with attorneys, parents, departmental personnel and other interested parties as they relate to services provided to juveniles in DJJ care. </li><li>May be required to restrain out-of-control juveniles. </li><li>Applicants must successfully pass a physical examination and be able to perform all essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. The cost of the physical examination will be billed through the employee’s health insurance; however, any applicable co-pays will be reimbursed by the department.<br><br></li></ul>For additional information, please contact the program’s administrative staff.<br><br><strong>Minimum Requirements<br><br></strong><strong>EDUCATION:</strong> Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.<br><br><strong>EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:</strong> Two years of experience in public or business administration.<br><br><strong>Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:</strong> NONE<br><br><strong>Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:</strong> Experience in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12-21) in a community setting, residential, correctional, group home, detention, military, or day treatment program will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
