<strong>Position Summary<br><br></strong>The primary function of a CDL Driver & Delivery Helper is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and delivers all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.<br><br><strong>Duties & Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.</li><li>Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order.</li><li>Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck.</li><li>Safely deliver and unload materials to an assigned area as directed by the customer.</li><li>Prepare the truck for the following day and maintain the truck and the equipment.</li><li>Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.</li><li>Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.</li><li>Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload.</li><li>Navigate routes to the job site.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>High School diploma or GED.</li><li>Ability to read, write and communicate information accurately.</li><li>Must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).</li><li>Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred </li><li>Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).</li><li>Must have overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.</li><li>Boom or Crane experience preferred.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Core Competencies<br><br></strong><ul><li>Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity.</li><li>Embody the principles of servant leadership, even in a non-people management role, by putting the needs of others first, valuing diverse perspectives by sincerely appreciating and considering others’ opinions and ideas and demonstrating a positive and humble attitude.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; ability to lead, execute and/or delegate as needed, while also collaborating with others to get the job done.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships at every level of the organization; invest in building relationships with the Field Operations and Field Support Center team members.</li><li>Help champion an inclusive working environment; empower others to bring their full selves to the workplace; celebrate, welcome, and value the different backgrounds and experiences that make up our workforce; recognize that all team members are valued, regardless of race, background, tenure, or title.</li><li>Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results.</li><li>Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Physical Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.</li><li>Must be able to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.</li><li>Frequently moves materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading flatbed.</li><li>Will constantly move from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicle onto job site.</li><li>Will constantly operate commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle. </li><li>Will constantly position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.</li><li>Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.</li><li>Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.</li><li>Constantly working in outside environment while making deliveries.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Cognitive Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must be able to prioritize job sites and deadlines.</li><li>Must be able to manage stress depending on customer’s deadline.</li><li>Must be able to multitask.</li><li>Must be able to receive information and directions.</li><li>Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement.<br><br></li></ul><strong>This job description is subject to change at any time.<br><br></strong><em>Launch your career with a national building materials distributor and discover opportunities for growth and advancement.
